GOPpers Are Slow Learners

It’s been quite a while since I posted to the site. Why? Well, life intervened in various ways. And, frankly, I was more than a little discouraged about all the nonsense coming out of Congress and the White House. It’s like drinking from a firehouse…that spews nothing but shit.

But the other day I got a letter which re-ignited my interest in updating the site: a push poll letter from Nazi Speaker Mike Johnson asking me for my opinions on a variety of issues, and urging me to donate to the Republican Cause.

You might wonder why the GOP would waste resources contacting me. Well, that’s because from 1979 until 2000 I was a registered Republican. I hadn’t voted for a single Republican candidate after 1990, though — I could see where the GOPpers were headed.

The final straw came during one of the Republican Presidential primary debates. When the moderator asked the group if they “believed” in evolution, only two hands went up…and tentatively to boot. As someone who studied molecular biology in college and spent a lot of time and effort practicing critical thinking, I remember saying “That’s it! I am no longer standing anywhere near these fucking morons!”

But because the Republican Party learns very slowly, if at all, they never seem to have recognized that (a) I am no longer an adherent and (b) wish they would vanish into a black hole.

After receiving their latest missive, I decided to write them a letter:

Of course, it would have been impolite to not respond to their poll. So I did that, too.

Hopefully, they’re bright enough to figure out my responses are in the comments.
